1. For the fun of it, I've added a new section to my profile. "Where in the world is HatMan's sleep schedule?" I'll try to remember to keep it more or less up to date.

2. I had a bunch of booklets that I scanned for a friend. It was supposed to be just for the once, and I wanted the best image quality. I figured if I was sticking it all on CD or whatever, file size wouldn't be an issue. But now I want to share it more broadly. Is there a good, simple, free tool for collecting them, converting them to reasonable size, and turning them into, say, PDFs?

3. Sorry about the rain in the Northeastern US. Mom went to visit her uncle in California, and NJ seems to have been crying over it the whole time. But, now that she's back, it seems to have stopped for now. (Of course, the forecast doesn't seem to agree, so maybe it's not just her.)

4. Support points are kind of funny. It's cool to get them, but then it starts to feel more like a competition. Like, "Hey, why is this person replying below me with almost the same exact information? Is she trying to steal my support point?" Which is just stupid, really. The point of support (er, so to speak) is to help the person. (And, of course, to do it in the officially correct style.) It's not like the points actually do anything, other than show that you've been helpful. (Although I am still a little confused on the specifics of how they work. But that's understandably a low priority, documentation-wise.)

5. I am cross-posting a lot less than I'd expected. I've still got a good number of longtime friends on LJ who haven't moved to DW. But DW seems more on my mind these days, and so I'm writing a lot of DW-specific things. Hmm.

6. I posted that survey meme last entry thinking it'd be a good way to get to know my shiny new DW friends. And it probably is. But now I find I'm intimidated by the prospect of reading all those huge long comments. And several people on my subscription list have posted surveys in response. I've got them open in tabs, but... still intimidated. I'm not particularly low on spoons, but my brain is still balking at the idea of using so many at once. Will get to them soon. One at a time...

7. I'm approaching the Flickr free photostream limit - once you hit 200 pics, you either get a paid account or allow your old photos to start scrolling off the list. So I went back and made sure everything was tagged. As long as I'm posting, if anyone's curious, the "me" tag. It's got a few random pics of me. And something I drew on MS Paint for an old meme.

re #4. I was thinking that the other day actually when my competitive streak kicked in. I ended up taking a step back and didn't even look at the support page yesterday. I think its because it is so shiny and new still, and we really want to help and when that help gets "rejected" (I use the term loosely) its hard not to take it just a little bit personally, and feel that you did something wrong because your answer wasn't chosen. I suppose once we (or I) get a grasp on how things need to be responded to and what should be included, it will get easier to see why a different answer was chosen.

I was looking out for things to answer for a while, and thought I had an answer to one question so I tried... and apparently missed something, heh. I think I will leave support to the more experienced support people for a while and just read over answers until I have a better feel for what to include/ask for/pay attention to? Because I have a tendency to get too competitive about some things like that too.
