So, as mentioned, I got a postcard in the mail yesterday. :)
Not just any postcard (although getting actual mail from friends is always very cool), but a handmade original artwork by the lovely, charming, creative, and talented Miss Crustacean (aka
alliegee), who, despite the title, does not seem to be very crabby at all.
Take a look. Isn't it nifty?

Those lines are staples, which hold in an actual printed picture (remember those?). The rest is hand-painted watercolors, rubber stamping, and glued-on collage (which really makes it a mixed medium piece). The whole thing has a cool texture to it, too. It's thick, quality, textured card paper. (You can see it better in the full-size image.)
It's really neat. And the message on the other side is written (mostly) on a half-postcard-sized sticker. Hadn't noticed that at first, but it's cool.
Yay for creative mail, and the lost art of postcards!
