Is anyone on my flist reading the Buffy comic?

I just totally need to share the OMG!LOL!SQUEE! level of awesomeness about that thing with Dawn in the last issue.

Anyone?

(If not, I suppose just posting this will have to do.)

I heart Joss.

The S8 ones, you mean? I have the first 12 issues, have read the first 4. Must catch up!!!

Although I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the way he scattered the Scooby gang around the world. You'd think with the hellmouth gone, they'd get SOME rest! I liked it better when it was domestic and when it was Buffy the Vampire Slayer, not Everybody's a Vampire Slayer (but I might only be saying that because the Potentials in S7 mostly were annoying, even Kennedy). But that said, they're pretty good! They just have a really different vibe from the show.

I heart Dawn for the time she stepped on Amy. <3 She was cutest as a rat.

The comics I'd love to get my hands on, though, are Spike: Asylum, and the non-canon ones about Spike & Dru.

Yes. Do catch up. There is awesomeness to be had.

You'd think things would be quietier, but then that would be boring. Good for Buffy and crew. Bad for us. And... the army of slayers is continuity. Not much going to change that (even if it shouldn't have worked in the first place). But it's interesting and new, and I think it's been well handled so far. Plus... Giant Dawn!

Been reading Angel: ATF, but I'm not so much for Spike, personally. Especially since he got resouled (that totally should have been done by a magical cobbler...). *shrug* But there is an upcoming ATF tie-in centered around Spike. You might want to keep an eye out for that.

I'm reading, but I'm not sure if I'm up to date! (I just go to the shop when I remember and buy whatever's new.) The last one I read, Dawn was going all Godzilla on Tokyo, and it was awesome. 'zat what you mean?

Precisely! Giant Dawn was cool, but she's kind of been a small (so to speak) subplot. And then Buffy's plot takes her, quite naturally, to Tokyo. And then *poof*! And there was much awesomeness. For about three panels. But they were three panels of pure Joss-grade awesome.

I read the first few, but then I got behind. I'm hoping my family will catch me up for my birthday cause I miss my Buffy crew and I never even got started on Angel. I hear there's some Wes/Fred stuff that will make me very excited, although it's tough to figure out how that's possible. But I'm sure Joss has it all under control. :)))

Definitely well worth the read. If your family doesn't catch you up on your bday, you're welcome to borrow mine. I almost never reread comics, particularly once they go in the box (and there's a special box just for Buffy, Angel, and a couple of other titles).

Wes/Fred... Don't expect too much. Seriously. There's only been one panel so far, IIRC. And then we jumped away (literally at that instant, I believe) for a three-issue mini-arc, which for some reason or other (there were some explanations and apologies) couldn't be done at another time or as a separate mini-series. We'll see what happens when we get back...

I'm reading it!

But I'm late to the party... that was randomly awesome, though. And anything set in Tokyo makes me happy.
