Ask me anything, and you will get an answer. Ask about me, ask about something you think I might know, ask... anything. Seriously or otherwise. Whatever you want. You will get an answer. In most cases, that answer will have something to do with the question. In some cases, it may even make sense! (I'll do my best, anyway. Depending on the question.)

You can ask me directly, or, if you've got a quarter handy, you can ask my buddy...

Okay. I'm not big on Vista. Never actually used it. But yes, according to a quick bit of web research, Telnet does need to be specifically enabled. Once that's done, of course, you have to open the program. (Start -> Run -> Telnet should do it, I think. Or Start -> Run -> cmd -> Telnet). But Telnet usually needs to initiate contact, in my experience. I'm not sure that it accepts incoming connections. So... yeah. I think that's pretty much what you said. Open Telnet and then try to open the game from within the program.

I'd have to know more specifics about the game to figure anything else. Lara or [livejournal.com profile] brigal might be of more help (though the latter hasn't volunteered her services, she'd be a good one to ask if she was willing).

Other than that... yeah, my next suggestion would be to download a client.

Does the game's website have any kind of technical FAQs?
