... I got jury duty. For the first time.
I was wondering what was taking them so long. I mean, I've been eligible for it for over a decade. Part of me has kind of been looking forward to it.
Problem is that I don't know what to do about it. I'd like to serve. But my sleep schedule is all over the place and I can't always drive and I can't always concentrate and... *sigh*
I guess I'll show up and see what they say. Assuming they still want me. I'm supposed to call the night before and see if they really need me.

Ironically, I got my first jury notice this month, too. Not an actual call yet, but I got the form in the mail that I had to fill out and send back in, putting me in the pool for 2008. All these years, and I've never been called before. Meanwhile, my sister has done it like three times, and she's moved around every few years. Weird.
My dilemma was the fact that Jim will be on sabbatical this year, so we might be out of state for the 08-09 academic year. I wrote on my form that I "might be living out of state for the last six months of 2008", but that I wouldn't know for sure until the spring. Considering we don't have a ton of jury trials in this area anyway, I figure the chances aren't that good that I'd get called anyway. We'll see!

Guess I'll fill in the questionaire. Tell them I *hope* I'm physically up to it. And go in. And see what happens.
