hatman: HatMan, my alter ego and face on the 'net (Default)
([personal profile] hatman Jan. 1st, 2008 02:00 am)
Dear Clark,

I've been thinking. (Yeah, what else is new? -R)

Whom do you have to deal with out there? Lex Luthor, for the most part. A non-powered human who uses his vast intellectual, technological, and finantial resources to put himself on a level with you. Let's face it, he's the evil version of me.

Meanwhile, over here, I've got the Joker. A madman with grandiose schemes that I have to find clever ways to thwart. (He was going to use the word "stop." Can you believe him? -R)

Of course, there are others. You've got the Prankster, I've got the Riddler. You've got... (I think you get the idea. -R)

Now, if I was in Metropolis, I'd be keeping a very careful eye on LexCorp. Instead of waiting for them to roll out their next killer robot and having to battle it in the streets, I'd have spies in their ranks, computer experts keeping track of their finances and projects, informants I could pump for information, etc. I'd take it offline before it could ever be built.

You, you could do a sweep of Gotham and find all sorts of interesting things it'd take me weeks to uncover. If Joker poisoned the lake, you could take care of the whole thing in seconds. If Killer Croc got loose, you'd have him behind bars before the Batmobile could even get to the scene.

Much as I hate to admit it, Gotham could probably do with some color and cheer, too. No one here is used to looking up. Metropolis, well... a healthy dose of cynicism couldn't hurt. People don't tend to wonder what's lurking in the shadows.

What do you think? You want to trade for a while?

Yours,

Bruce (&Co.)

(P.S. I love this. You two are the world's finest pen pals.)

Heh.

Bruce defending Metropolis and Clark in Gotham?

For great justice, that.

Oh. I thought there was some Zero Wing thing going on or something. Probably best to leave that in the past, anyway.

Exactly. Hence my...

Oh, never mind.

But hey, at least this passes the time.

(I've got promises to keep hours to go before I sleep...)

(Well, yeah. They're all we have left to maintain hope for the future.) *duhface*

From: [identity profile] leeson.livejournal.com

Yeah, well, all mine was invested in the Delorean. That didn't turn out so well on my part...

Yeah, I heard that really took off. But then it suddenly went out in flames...

(BTW, a bit late, but have you seen this old LJ-cut?)

From: [identity profile] leeson.livejournal.com

Oh, my Glenn Frey. You went there! Why did you have to go there!

I only laughed a little.

(Heh. I hadn't. now I have, though. And, heh.)

I went there? Where? Huh? Where am I now? Who are you people?

A little is better than nothing. And probably more than it deserved.

(Thanks. I guess.)

*snickers* Reminds me of this strip (http://xkcd.com/286/). *reads on and giggles some more*

Love this, especially the comments from Robin. I had to figure out who -R was. I wonder how the switch would turn out...

Thanks.

And yeah, I wonder, too. Wouldn't it be cool if they actually did try it for a couple of months in the comics?

(Though I suppose there was that Batman/Superman ep where Bruce went missing and Clark had to pretend he was Batman. That was fun. But not quite the same thing.)

Crossover alert! Quick, somebody get Laramoon!

I know everybody likes Micheal Keaton's Batman, but Christian Bale is the only one I'll ever see in the suit. I cannot WAIT to see Bale and Ledger on screen together - Legend in the making. It'll be like The Prestige all over again. I wonder who could play Robin to Bale's Batman?

Hey, Paul - who's your favourite Supes and Batman?

From: [identity profile] laramoon.livejournal.com

*lol* I'm here, I'm here! And I'm so laughing my head off! heeee! Thanks for sharing that, Paul - first actual, genuine smile of the day, right there. :)

OMG, Christian Bale so is the one and only! Michael Keaton is Mr. Mom for god's sake, not Bruce Wayne!!!! Sheeesh!

I wonder who could play Robin to Bale's Batman?

Kinda too bad Chris O'Donnell is too old... he made a good one, imho. :)

*sighs* can't wait to see the movie. /me wishes she could get friends to come and see it with her, even...

*blinks*

Tell me, is there are reason we haven't friended each other yet?

From: [identity profile] ladymirth.livejournal.com

Fixed! Yay!

Hey, Lara, are you into either Harry Potter or Supernatural? Just asking for the sake of my friends filters. =)

(Apologies to Paul for hijacking his journal.)

From: [identity profile] laramoon.livejournal.com

I could be swayed, but I'm not really no. I'm mostly into Batman, these days - as if no one had noticed. *giggles*

Oooh - hey Paul, meant to tell you: the lunch bag (box, whatever) was a huge hit at work. hehe! Dorks rule! :D

Oh, yay! Glad you're having fun with it, and that they appreciate it, too! It just jumped out at me, and at that price, I couldn't resist! :D

No apologies necessary. Always happy to host, as long as people are getting along. And now this entry looks really popular! *g*

(Heh, you should see what [livejournal.com profile] airelin and I did to poor [livejournal.com profile] christn7 when we met in his journal and finally friended each other...)

I tend not to pick favorites. I try to forget about Kilmer, and Cloony doesn't exist to me. I liked Keaton. Bale is very cool. I also love Kevin Conroy's voice acting for the part. Adam West was fun while it lasted, but I wouldn't want to see him in the role anywhere else.

No ideas for Robin, but I'm sure they could find some suitable unknown.

Supes-wise... Routh did a very good job as a Reeve stand-in. I never really saw Kirk Allen, and it's too late for him, George Reeves, or Chris Reeve. I do like the animated voice actor, too. And, of course, Dean. But, basically, these days... Routh is the only way to go. I just wish they could update the character. Drop some (more) of the Silver Age stuff...

From: [identity profile] kb91.livejournal.com

Haha, this is great. Loved the Robin comments (even if it took me a few secs to figure out who it was).

You know this is just crying out for a fanfic. Screw the comics; you could do it so much better. :D

From: [identity profile] pgwfolc.livejournal.com

lol, I'm honored. But this wasn't my kind of fic to write even in the days when I was writing. These days... this is about as much as I write. But glad you liked it, anyway. :)

From: [identity profile] mrsmosley.livejournal.com

Ok, I meant ditto what Kathy said, but my silly self didn't respond to her comment. But I meant - go write a fic, I'd love to see it. *g*
ext_3159: HatMan (Default)

From: [identity profile] pgwfolc.livejournal.com

lol, gotcha.

As for fic... Probably not going to happen, but thanks. :)
