A good friend who has been slowly dying of cancer took a sudden turn for the worse. I'm looking into dropping everything to fly out there tomorrow.
In other news:
Doing better with it. I was dizzy in the morning for the first couple of days, but that seems to have worn off. I'm also waking up less frequently during the night. Not sure if I'm sleeping any better than typical, though. It's surprisingly hard to tell.
CPAP hours: 8.9
AHI: 1.9
Meantime, the doctor is supposed to be working on getting insurance authorization for me (I got a one month free sample from the drug company, but insurance isn't sure it wants to pay in the long term). Insurance said they didn't get the paperwork from her at all, and the only thing I've heard from the office is a call back from the secretary who said she passed along the message to the doctor and the insurance person.
