Following the previous serious post with some frivolity, here are a bunch of random links (mostly from Twitter):
The Library of Congress has rare color pictures of the Great Depression.
An awesome real-world model of a Portal turret. (Any of you guys play Portal 2?)
Mythbuster Adam Savage dancing geekily in a faraday cage while tesla coils rigged as electronic synthesizers play the theme song to Dr. Who.
Actual climate scientists rap about climate change.
Remember that ad I mentioned? A few of you saw it. Several others from other sites saw it, too. One of you had to think about it for a sec. One didn't see it at all. Thanks to everyone who responded. I emailed the company to ask them about it. They haven't responded. I'm not entirely surprised.
Maybe their lack of response has something to do with the fact that I linked the very NSFW Wiki article about their company's homonym. Perhaps worth noting is that while that Rabbit is well known enough to have its own Wiki article, the corkscrew company is/does not.
And, really, when you share the name and talk about "the buzz" and show a picture like that... I mean, they have to have heard about the "other" Rabbit. People have to have mentioned it to them before. That ad... it gives new meaning to "corkscrew."
BTW, when I mentioned that my teenage cousins - two girls - had made the same connection, I meant that I'd brought up the corkscrew over dinner (back before they even had an electric model) and they'd started whispering to each other because they'd only heard of the other Rabbit.
The corkscrew company is still fairly local. They're a much smaller company. They're going to have to be careful about these mix-ups. Unless, if that ad is any indication, they plan on making the most of it, for better or for worse.

As for the other thing... I only like two out of three, but that's still more than enough for me to love that clip. :)

Also loved the rap video xD When science meets music, the results are always awesome.
The ad: I admit I did wonder whether you were talking about a similarity with a vibrator, but a long buzzing thing didn't feel enough to warrant your reaction. Hearing about the rabbit thing though... yeah, I get it.
