New vlog entry! (Hopefully, after all the issues I had today with cameras and multiple video format conversions, it's actually watchable. Sorry about the lighting. And the camera positioning. Best I could manage at the time, and there are things going on with the family this week so I didn't want to fuss around too much.)

Some things I forgot to mention: The sculpting is, as you can see, 3D, but it doesn't come too far out, so it shouldn't take much (if any) damage when the cane falls over. The cane still fits neatly between my seat and the car door. It's still balanced enough to stand easily on its base. And the sculpting material is lightweight enough that I can't tell the difference when I pick it up.
About the shirt I'm wearing: It says (in the Star Trek: TOS font) "TODAY IS A GOOD DAY... TO READ" and has a picture of a bat'leth embedded in a book. I wore it because it's the one piece of clothing I have which is associated with a webcomic. (It was purchased from the store at http://www.unshelved.com/ ). Also, Unshelved is a comic about libraries, and libraries are awesome. Oh, and Star Trek jokes are fun (even if only a tiny percentage of the population gets them).
In case you're curious: The sign taped up on the wall there says "Shhhh... If bed is occupied, you are probably witnessing a kid napping." I made it when I was 14. (Along with the sign on the back of my door which reads, "Child Rearing: A painful process which, if repeated too often, [I forget the phrasing], or otherwise done wrong can lead to many sore spots in a sensitive area." Mom, when she first saw it, said, "Good. You appreciate how hard it is for us parents." It should be noted that I was only ever spanked once that I can recall.) Below that sign is a lithograph of Brant Point Lighthouse in Nantucket, MA. Below that is a light box (super bright light which is supposed to help keep my sleep schedule on track), my CPAP (which helps me breathe at night), and my CPAP's mascott, Sleepy the Dwarf (of Snow White fame). On the ceiling, directly above my pillow, is a glow-in-the-dark Earth.
Oh, and the thing on my hat is a bumper sticker for the band "PROPELLERHEAD" which a promoter handed to my college roommate, and which he was subsequently quite happy to give to me to put to proper use. The other hat... doesn't seem to have come out quite clearly, but I'm sure you can guess what it is.

LOL! Love the editing on the video, especially when that song started playing in the background. ;)
Re: Hobbes - I'd MUCH rather have a handmade with love stuffed animal than a store-bought one!
Re: the cane - it's AWESOME! And for some reason, I can't think of any other words to describe it. ;) I have a question... how durable is that stuff? I mean, I'd be worried about breaking the poor dragons when it falls over or bumps into stuff. I'm assuming it's a little more durable than I'm imagining, though.
Congrats on the new cane and a humorous YouTube video! (I was gonna sit down and eat my breakfast in front of the Daily Show, but this was better. :D)

And yeah, durability was one of the first questions I asked. She thought it would hold up. And, like I said, it's positioned so that it shouldn't generally make contact when the cane falls. We'll see, but it seems pretty good to me.
Oh, and the comic is Real Life Fiction. Enjoy! :)

Hahaha, so amused by the colour combination. Yes, it should ring a bell, shouldn't it?
That's a very cool cane, anyway. :D

Glad you like the cane, too. :)
