Made it to DC.
Got to test drive a Chevy Volt, which was very cool. (I was registered for their stop in upstate NJ next week, but I'm not sure my assigned timeslot would have worked out. Instead, I was going to be in DC anyway and had the afternoon free, so I headed over and got in the walk-in line, which worked out quite well.) I'm excited for the car, for a number of reasons. I'll have a fuller post later. Probably Monday.
Tomorrow, I go to the Daily Show Rally to Restore Sanity. (I'll be wearing my beanie copter. There's a danger to too much sanity. ;) ) They're expecting a lot of people. My kind of people, I expect. Should be really fun. I'll post about that when I get home, too.
Meantime, a post on pointed out the costume Nick "I Want This So Badly I Will Name My Child Kal-El" Cage would have worn if they'd gone ahead with that movie instead of Superman Returns. Check it out, if you dare. The poster on NSD described it as "inside-of-a-seashell cosplaying as Superman in Tron? Who was then involved in a transporter accident with a Christmas tree?" I prefer to think of it as what Superman wears when going clubbing. To the trendiest and/or tackiest gay bar in Metropolis.*
And now, with that image fresh in my head, it's time to unpack and get some sleep.
*Which is, of course, not to use "that's looks gay" in any sort of derogatory or pejorative fashion, but rather to point out one of only two possible contexts in which that suit makes any sense - a certain type of gay nightclub or this movie, which I have tried very hard to forget.
P.S. There is now a 3G network on Mount Everest. I'm sure a foursquare checkin will soon follow. WIF?
