1. General warning:
I'm in the process of moving my sleep schedule around, so I'll probably be extra loopy for a while. Actually, I'll be sleepy, grumpy, dopey, bashful, and other dwarfish things. (Hopefully not sneezy, though. Possibly manically happy at times. I may even think I'm a doc.) All good reasons for me to be less active in my reading and communications. (But, being loopy, good reasons don't always translate into proper actions.)
( Sleep details, for those interested... )
Others have it worse, I know. I'm just... trying to do my best. And to give you fair warning.
2. Happy Easter to anyone celebrating it! (And a Painless Passover to those who, like me, are in unleavened households.)
You know, Easter is a very popular holiday amongst the French. Ask any of them, and they'll tell you that Bunny Day is a good idea!
3. My taxes are done! Dad managed to get the necessary form from my uncle's office which always holds things up. (I have a 1/17th share in a small part of the family business which is under his management.) Used TurboTax online, efiled my federal return, got acceptance the same day. A nice big refund should be turning up shortly. Sorry if this highlights any issues you're having, but it was quick and relatively painless for me this year, and I'm happy. :)
4. There was some offhand mention in some email a while back about someone maybe possibly organizing a Dreamwidth Open Beta party in Baltimore on the 30th. I'm not sure what schedule I'll be on or if I'll have other plans or whatever, but it sounds like a cool idea. Baltimore is a couple of hours from where I live, but it'd be worth it to me. Anyone else up for it? I don't have a venue for it myself. Just poking a stick and seeing what I stir up.
5. This post makes me happy. It's pretty short, but the mere fact of it is just so shiny. It's a solicitation for questions about the runnings of Dreamwidth Studios, LLC as a business. Because they truly want to be as open/transparent as possible. There's a lot that's already been posted, but now there's an official Q&A, just in case they missed anything. In short... if you want a peek at the books, just ask. And some of the answers (like the one about how everything up until now has been paid out of pocket, from the personal savings of the site's two co-owners, because they believe in it that much) make it even shinier. And, of course, the bit (which I already knew about, but which is still awesome) about how, no, you can't make a donation to DW, but you will be able to give them money in many interesting forms... including a "sponsor a random active user" program, which just sounds neat.
6. This space intentionally left blank. Oh, great. Now it isn't blank. Oh well.
