So, yeah, I suck.

Nothing's happening. Nothing's new. I've got nothing to say. I'm just tired. And pretty much everything else is stalled. (The people I'm working with on the bakery have been sick and also had to move to a new place, so they haven't gotten anything done, either.)

But hey, I did make myself a pair of slippers. From scratch. With no pattern whatsoever and only the vaguest of plans. So that's something. They're based on the awesome Goblins webcomic which you should totally read if you're not already.

They're kind of hard to describe. Basically, there's a big slab of thick, spongy foam. Glued to the bottom of that is a layer of bumpy green waterproof material (actually cut from what was intended to provide a higher-traction surface at the bottom of a bathtub). And then built around the whole thing is a stuffed goblin. A big puffy rectangular body with a head at the front, arms at the sides, and little feet at the back. (So it's like he's lying on his back.) And then there's a hole basically between where his legs would be, and my foot goes in there. It's warm and soft and comfy. And I entered them both in a fanart contest on the Goblins boards. ... Except the servers have been down for the last few days.

Good luck with the bakery. Big projects like that take time, so don't worry if the pace seems kind of slow. Frankly, I'd be more worried if things were hurtling along at light-speed. (I trust you're getting everything on paper? Everything, Paul, everything! Even decisions regarding the wallpaper! Trust me; my Mom watches a lot of court shows.)

Thanks! I had fun making them. And I've found that, for all the mistakes and oddities, I have more fun sewing by the seat of my pants. (How's your horse coming?)

And thanks for the good wishes. Right now, we're still in the research phase, so there isn't much need for a paper trail. But I'll keep it in mind as things develop.
