Quick update:
I ghosted the drive. Took 28 CDs, but I feel better knowing it's done. No trouble with the drive while doing it, either, and Ghost booted directly to Windows when it was done. I'm thinking the problem may be with BIOS. I may try updating again to see if that helps.
Nothing new on the new comp. No progress, no explanations. Current delivery estimate is somewhere around June 6. We'll see.
