Fun fact: our hearing works on a logarithmic, not linear scale. A sound that you perceive as twice as loud as another is, measured mechanically, actually ten times as loud.

With that in mind, I do not want to contemplate how loudly that doctor was speaking. Wow. (For the record, she had no trouble hearing me when I was speaking softly.)

That said, she seemed nice. And well informed. (She'd actually just been to a symposium on free running sleep back in June.)

She wants time to think about it, do some research, and confer with colleagues, but she has an idea or two. We'll see how it goes.
