State of the Paul update:
After two consecutive nights of 10 hours sleep, the collective sleep debt from the entire month of June hit me like a ton of bricks. I've spent the last two days flat out in bed, except for mealtimes. Managing not to pass out at the table has, at times, been a major struggle.
Last night, I woke up in the middle of the night because of a high blood sugar. But I got back to sleep eventually, for a total of about 9 hours.
Unfortunately, my CPAP started making odd noises sometime this morning. I'm going to have to get that checked out. I just hope it works okay until Friday, because I'm not getting help for it before then.
I did take a shower tonight. My greatest accomplishment of the week, if you don't count surviving the trip here.
Tomorrow, Mom and I fly home. I'll be sorry to miss seeing my sister and her family, but I'm in no condition to deal with anyone. Much as I love and adore my niece and nephew, I just can't handle it.
We'll see how holiday travel goes. The dog (the reason Mom was scheduled to come home so early in the first place) will be very happy to see us. Especially because he is terrified of fireworks.
If I can get some sleep tonight, I should be able to manage the trip home. We'll see...
