Obama gives his acceptance speech about the necessity of war and the use of American military power to fight evil, the Norwegians get angry because he skipped out on the afterparty, and the musical act they'd lined up was Toby Keith, singer of what's pretty much the epitome of jingoism, "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" (YouTube video, or, if you prefer, just the lyrics).

(ETA: Forgot to mention that the day before the prize was given, the skies over parts of Norway were lit up by a Russian missile test.)
