BSG fans with VCRs, take note:
Friday is the premier of the final season of Battlestar Galactica. SciFi, continuing their tradition of extending the runtime of their most anticipated premiers without actually telling anyone about it, has decided that...
The season premier of Battlestar Galactica will be 61 minutes long.
It's just long enough that a VCR will very likely miss the end of the final scene, but not so long that anyone not deliberately scrutinizing the listings would actually notice the change. Absolutely, diabolically brilliant.

I got into BSG last fall, and I'm fully addicted now. It's a brilliant show. I started rewatching it again last week, and it seems like the more eps I watch, the more I want to watch. I got so sucked in this weekend that I watched 14 eps just yesterday. It's especially intriguing to watch it knowing who four of the final five cylons are. Things like the Tyrol/Sharon relationship at the beginning of the show take on a whole new perspective.
I don't have Sci Fi channel, and from what I can tell, none of the other networks are reairing them weekly, so I'll have to download the new ep each week, but I'll survive. At least I won't have to deal with the 61 minute fiasco.
Sorry to ramble about BSG, but I don't know anyone who watches it, so when I see someone talking about it, my brain involuntarily goes into OMGBSG!!!! mode. :)

And yeah, the final four really turn things upside-down.
Good luck with the downloads.
And hey, you're welcome to go OMGBSG!!! anytime you want.
Oh, and you can try these boards, if you want. They're pretty small (which is kind of a mixed blessing). They've been dead for most of the hiatus, but should pick up once the show's back on the air.
