1. Apparently, I misunderstood the 3 weeks for DW thing. (As was pointed out to me in comments to the previous entry.) It's not about leaving LJ, but rather creating DW-only content. Promoting the site and making it move and grow. Should have remembered what was mentioned at the bottom (number 7 of 8, anyway) of this week's DW News update. Among the site's founding principles is playing nice with other sites, not bashing them, etc etc.
2. Forgot to mention Queer the Census. I support the idea, in theory - as long as the question includes a "prefer not to say" option. Could be interesting, anyway. In 10 years.
3. Was driving around town with Mom when I saw a big poster in a box on the side of a building that said "RECONSIDER CHURCH." Wow. How boldly atheistic. Who would dare...? And then I noticed that the building in question actually was a church. Which confused me. Until I realized that I'd entirely misunderstood the intended message. They were trying to bring people back in, not telling them to think twice about the whole idea of organized religion. Silly me.
4. Mom dropped me off to walk to the restaurant while she went to find parking. While I was walking (stopped, actually, because I'd missed the place), I dropped my book. Suddenly, I heard a voice saying, "I'll get it." And then a random, gray-haired stranger walked up, picked up the book, and handed it to me. I thanked him, and he went on his way. Felt kind of weird, but it was nice.
5. Inside the restaurant, they had one of those Jedi paper towel dispensers. Don't remember if I've mentioned this before, but I love those things. I just walk up to it, wave my hand slowly before it, and intone, "These are not the drops you're looking for." And just like that, it produces a paper towel! The force is strong with this one.
6. Oh, and Happy St. Patrick's Day to any who celebrate such things. :)
