Well, glad you liked, anyway. Thanks for commenting. :D

As for 80...

There was a question on The Dating Game years back. Don't know if you ever watched that, but it was still big when I was a kid. They used to come up with the ____est questions. I want to say "dumbest," but that doesn't really describe. And they weren't all dumb. Just... I dunno. The kind of questions a bunch of people would come up with because they thought it'd make good TV rather than because it was remotely like what anyone would actually ask. (I'm sure they had staff writers to come up with this stuff, and the contestants just read them off the cards.)

Anyway, one of the questions they used this one time was "If you were a road sign, what sign would you be?" (See what I mean about the questions?) The guy answered "Slippery When Wet." The audience made appropriate "wooo!" sounds, which made the guy realize what he'd just implied. "No, no! Wait! I just meant that I like water sports. You know, waterskiing and stuff..."

I thought it was an interesting question and tried to figure out what I'd have answered. Couldn't come up with anything for a while, but it wasn't much later that I saw an ad on the USA Network. They were promoting themselves using street signs. You'd see a sign that said "Dangerous Curves" and then a couple seconds' worth of, say, "La Femme Nikita." Followed, perhaps, by "Slippery When Wet" and a couple seconds of "Baywatch." One of the signs was "Soft Shoulder," followed, of course, by a close-up of one of their female stars baring her shoulder. I'd never actually seen a "Soft Shoulder" sign (parents explained that it meant the shoulder of the road was unusually narrow, so there was little to no space to pull over in an emergency), but, remembering the Dating Game question, I decided that that was my answer. If I was a street sign, I'd be "Soft Shoulder" - something for friends and loved ones to lean on.

Hadn't thought of that in ages, but when it asked me what my sign was, that's what popped to mind. Seemed a much better answer than some stupid meaningless astrological sign.
